JavaScript ES6 Modules

With ES6 JavaScript changed from a programming language that many people dreaded using to one of the most popular and loved languages. Of the new changes in ES6 the addition of modules was one of, if not, the biggest change that pushed JavaScript to where it is now. Modules make it so much easier to write clean and reusable code. In this video we will discuss how to use ES6 modules and why they are so important to JavaScript. What is a Module? (Abstract Algebra)

A module is a generalization of a vector space. You can think of it as a group of vectors with scalars from a ring instead of a field. In this lesson, we introduce the module, give a variety of examples, and talk about the ways in which modules and vector spaces are different from one another. Article with Code Samples: 🤍 More articles and tutorials: 🤍 Join the conversation on the forum: 🤍 Subscribe to the newsletter and stay in touch: 🤍 The Global Positioning System, or GPS, is one of several satellite positioning systems that we can use to determine our location, altitude and the exact time - from anywhere in the world. Thanks to these systems, and the availability of low-cost receiver modules, we can easily add GPS functionality to any project. Today I’ll explain how these positioning systems work, what kind of data we can get out of them, and how we can use these popular modules with both the Arduino and Raspberry Pi. And, as a fun experiment, I’ll show you how to build a simple Arduino-based GPS logger that saves your position onto a microSD card, using a file format that can be imported into Google Maps. I took a walk in the park with it to give it a test. Practical C++ Modules - Boris Kolpackov - CppCon 2019

🤍 — Discussion & Comments: 🤍 — Presentation Slides, PDFs, Source Code and other presenter materials are available at: 🤍 — Modules are merged into the C20 draft which means we now have a good idea what to expect, functionality-wise. Tooling support is also not far behind with compiler and build system vendors making steady progress. So we've got modules, but what now? How do we start using modules in our projects? The aim of this talk is to answer the "What (& Why)", "How", and "When" of C Modules: what are modules (& why do we need them), how to apply them to new and existing codebases, as well as when can we start the migration. We begin with a brief introduction to modules (structure, partitions, header units, include translation) and their relation to other physical design mechanisms (namespaces, headers, libraries, packages). We will also get a basic understanding of the underlying build mechanics which turns out to be necessary to use modules effectively. Next we dive into the practical aspects of using modules: should we start with header units or go straight to proper modules? If header units, then should we use explicit import or rely on include translation? And if proper modules, then what is the appropriate module granularity? How to name our modules? Split or not to split (into module interface/implementation units)? And what about module distribution? We conclude the talk by discussing the state of compilers, build systems, and (system) headers with regard to modules and whether now is a good time to start a new or modularize an existing project. — Boris Kolpackov Code Synthesis Chief Hacking Officer South Africa Boris Kolpackov is a founder and CHO (Chief Hacking Officer) at Code Synthesis, a company focusing on the development of open-source tools and libraries for C. Moving massive furnace modules using the power of 322 SPMT axle-lines

Mammoet’s USA team won a Job of the Year award at the Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association’s (SC&RA) Annual Conference in Washington D.C. in April of 2022. The award was for Hauling Job of the Year in the Moving project category which highlights transports done using specialized equipment such as self-propelled transporters, dollies, and crawler assemblies. Our team presented the successful completion of the transport of the furnace modules for the Gulf Coast Growth Ventures plastics manufacturing facility in San Patricio County, Texas. In 2021, the heaviest modules of the project, the furnaces, were transported successfully. The largest furnace module measured approximately 91m long by 43m wide, towered over 21m tall (300 ft. long by 140 ft. wide and nearly 170 ft. tall). and weighed in over 8,000t. A single module required seven trains of SPMT trailers at 46 axle lines in length and each module was transported along a dedicated eight kilometer, or 4.7-mile, heavy haul route using SPMTs. #ProjectEngineeringExplained

Angular modules and controllers

creating modules in angularjs creating controllers in angularjs In this video we will discuss 1. What is a module in angular 2. How to create a module 3. What is a controller in angular 4. How to create a controller 5. How to register a controller with the module 6. How to use the module that we created to bootstrap the angular application Healthy diet is very important both for the body and mind. If you like Aarvi Kitchen recipes, please support by sharing, subscribing and liking our YouTube channel. Hope you can help. 🤍 What is a module in AngularJS A module is a container for different parts of your application i.e controllers, services, directives, filters, etc. In this video we will also discuss controllers. We will discuss services, filters and directives in a later video. Why is a module required You can think of a module as a Main() method in other types of applications. For example, a Dot Net console application has a Main() method which is the entry point into the application and it wires together the different parts of the application. Modules are the angular application's equivalent of the Main() method. Modules declaratively specify how the angular application should be bootstrapped. There are several benefits of the modular approach. It may be difficult to comprehend all those benefits right now, so we will defere the discussion of the benefits to a later video. How to create a module Creating a module in angular is staright forward. Use the angular object's module() method to create a module. The angular object is provided by angular script. The following example, creates a module. var myApp = angular.module("myModule", []) The first parameter specifies the name of the module. The second parameter specifies the dependencies for this module A module can depend on other modules. We will discuss an example of module dependencies in a later video. Right now, the module that we are creating is not dependent on any other external modules, so I am passing an empty array as the value for the second parameter. What is a controller in angular In angular a controller is a JavaScript function. The job of the controller is to build a model for the view to display. The model is the data. In a real world application, the controller may call into a service to retrieve data from the database. How to create a controller in angular Simple, create a JavaScript constructor function var myController = function ($scope) { $scope.message = "AngularJS Tutorial"; } What is $scope $scope is an angular object that is passed to the controller function by the angular framework. We attach the model to the $scope object, which will then be available in the view. With in the view, we use the databinding expression to retrieve the data from the scope object and display it. How to register the controller with the module Use module object's controller function to register the controller with the module myApp.controller("myController", myController); Here is the complete code //Create the module var myApp = angular.module("myModule", []); //Create the controller var myController = function ($scope) { $scope.message = "AngularJS Tutorial"; } // Register the controller with the module myApp.controller("myController", myController); The above code can also be written as shown below. //Create the module var myApp = angular.module("myModule", []); // Creating the controller and registering with the module all done in one line. myApp.controller("myController", function ($scope) { $scope.message = "AngularJS Tutorial"; }); How to use the module that we created to bootstrap the angular application Associate the module name with ng-app directive ng-app="myModule" Similarly associate the controller using ng-controller directive ng-controller="myController" Link for all dot net and sql server video tutorial playlists 🤍 Link for slides, code samples and text version of the video 🤍
