Without this key the board would not run. Finally in 2016 new methods have appeared to completely revive a non working Capcom CPS2 board and restore it back to its former self without resorting to the older 'Phoenix' method - which required altering code and burning new roms. I decided to show how CPS2 boards work and are connected to a JAMMA cab, and how I use the stereo output. The B board used in this video is a phoenixed Marvel vs Capcom. There's a part where you can see the intro of the game starting to play and there is a graphic glitch, this is because the game is the Japanese version but it was set to play as the US region through the phoenix setup. Some games play without issues when they are set to other regions, while others actually have slightly different game data, which causes them to have graphic glitches when they're set to a region other than their default. This is also the case if, for example, a Japanese B board gets updated/flashed with a US or Asia set of roms, and vice versa. So when I play this in Japanese mode, it works flawlessly. Some people call games that have a phoenixed set of roms as the phoenix edition. I personally prefer phoenixed games because I know they will never have battery issues, while some people prefer the battery to remain because it's "more original" and untampered with. My main concern is the gameplay, audio, and the visuals. Music in the background is from Mario Paint.

As you can see in the video. This is a Capcom CPS2 board that suffered from internal battery leakage. The damage was extensive. The board was cleaned using vinegar slightly diluted with water to remove the liquid sprayed from the battery and afterward, the entire board was washed using soap and water. Once the board was dried the repairs began.

Capcom - CPS2 - InfiniKey Install Welcome back to another video. In this video, I wanted to demonstrate how easy it is to remove the original battery from the Capcom CPS2 arcade boards. You have the option to replace the original battery for a new battery, but I opted for the popular method of installing the InfiniKey. This enables the game board to still function without the battery installed. I carried out this install on my Super Street Fighter 2 CPS2 board. I finally show the game working on my Sega New Astro City arcade machine. If I can do this guys, so can you! In this video I go through 3 CPS2 B boards I have to select one for the Darksoft Multi install. Topics in this vid: CPS2 B Board disassembly CPS2 B Board Battery inspection and measuring CPS2 B Board pcb inspection and board code identification CPS2 B Board basic visual inspection looking for damaged CPU's, traces, capacitor damage, pin and socket integrity and overall pcb health. The point here is to choose the best donor board for the Darksoft Multi kit to insure proper instillation, proper function and longevity or the modded board.
