Attenzione a questo particolare: io ho connesso il monitor al pc tramite cavo VGA (compreso nella confezione). Qualche idiota contesta che nel 2021 ci sia ancora chi usa "l'orrenda" connessione analogica VGA. Alla faccia sua, io mi godo i video a 1080p in maniera sublime e qualsivoglia immagine Full HD! I caratteri del testo dei documenti, inoltre, sono ben definiti e la lettura non mi crea alcun problema di affaticamento degli occhi. E su questi aspetti nasce la mia considerazione: escludendo i giocatori performanti e i professionisti di varia natura che prediligono la connessione digitale (DVI-D, HDMI, DisplayPort), io non riesco a trovare una ragione per cui un utilizzatore medio alle prese con navigazione internet, documenti Office e Pdf, più qualche sporadico montaggio video, Youtube e foto jpeg da smartphone, debba farsi enormi pippe mentali per ragionare se sia meglio scegliere un monitor con connessione DVI-D, oppure HDMI, o DP... VGA, basta e avanza! Per quanto mi riguarda, io sono molto soddisfatto di questo Asus VA24EHE che ha un ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. In base alle mie necessità, che sono appunto quelle dell'utilizzatore medio, questo monitor offre una qualità di visione eccellente che posso regolare a piacimento tramite le tante opzioni accessibili dal menù: io, comunque, ho regolato solo la luminosità e il contrasto, diminuendoli a 70, ed ho lasciato invariate tutte le altre opzioni che erano già attive di default alla prima accensione... per i miei occhi, che sono molto delicati e facilmente irritabili, va benissimo così. Riguardo il famigerato "backlight bleeding", io NON l'ho notato assolutamente. Come è risaputo, i display IPS generalmente non producono dei neri profondi, come gli OLED: io ho aperto un'immagine jpeg nera a schermo intero che, invece, è risultata visibile di un grigio molto scuro. Ma è una caratteristica nota che a me non da fastidio e, francamente, non credo ci sia qualcuno che abbia interesse nel vedere e analizzare un'immagine completamente scura! A tal proposito, c'è qualche buontempone che stila la sua recensione di questo monitor Asus facendo un'istantanea dello schermo con immagine nera. Quella foto, però, non è realmente ciò che l'occhio vede: ho provato anche io a fare altrettanto, ma la foto prodotta era tempestata di chiazze chiare a degradare l'immagine che io, in realtà, vedevo uniformemente di un grigio molto scuro (come detto in precedenza). L'unico difetto che lamento è l'assurda pulsantiera posta sul retro, lato destro: io la trovo scomodissima ed è frutto di una bestialità progettuale partorita dai tecnici Asus (ma comune a molti Marchi) che mi rende problematico agire all'interno del menù. Fortunatamente non mi è necessario intervenire nel setup tutti i giorni, altrimenti sarebbe stato un grosso problema e, di sicuro, avrei restituito il monitor al venditore. A tal proposito ho visto in commercio alcuni modelli di monitor (come LG) che possiedono un piccolo pulsante joystick, sempre sul retro, che è molto più intuitivo e rapido. La mia speranza è che i progettisti Asus, nei prodotti venturi, se proprio gli è antipatico il joystick, che almeno spostino i 5 pulsanti frontalmente sulla cornice inferiore.
